Rules of the Race

Dogs should be at least one (1) year old to run competitively. If younger please use discretion and walk, jog, or carry your loving companion. Only one dog and one human will be officially timed per Registered Bib Number (rbn) but any number of humans can run as the support group ($10 donation).


1. Dog & Partner must be tethered to each other. For an offical finish time the tether must be the same length at the START and at the time of crossing the finish line. Variable lengths are acceptable during the run.
2. Time is calculated when DOG's nose crosses finish line.
3. Partner is responsible for cleaning up dog sculptures. (doo doo)

DOG'S DAUGHTER AND HUMAN PARTNER RUN TO BEAT CANINE CANCER

‘Halen’ Childs is 6-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever who is bravely battling canine cancer. Her sibling, ‘Callie’ Usle, who was diagnosed with cancer in June, recently lost her battle with the disease.

Steve Usle and ‘Sammy’ [Callie’s daughter] will be running in the race in Norwich, VT on September 21st to help raise money for the Morris Animal Foundation’s Canine Cancer Research Campaign. They would be most appreciative of any contributions that you would like to make in honor of Halen and in memory of Callie. Congratulations on a successfule race! About 50 dogs and 70 people participated in the race. It was perfect weather for record setting times on a fabulous course.
